The guys over at Polarbit were nice enough to send over a pre-release version of their brand new game, Reckless Racing 2. A sequel to the incredibly popular and highly addictive Reckless Racing, Reckless Racing 2 offers more game modes, cars, maps, and characters than ever before. Let’s just say that after giving Reckless Racing 2 a full play through, it’s being added to my list of favorite racing series.

For starters, I’m proud to announce Reckless Racing 2 isn’t a “cop-out” sequel like so many others that could just offer the second game’s content as an expansion. Reckless Racing 2 is an entirely new and revamped game with tons of new features. For example, while Reckless Racing 1 only offered Rally and Time Trail modes, Reckless Racing 2 goes over the top with four game modes: Career, Arcade, Single Event, and Multiplayer.

Career Mode: In career mode you can race 12 different cups, each consisting of three to five events. These events can either be a normal race, a Hot Lap event, or Elimination. A normal race is self-explanatory, Elimination has you racing for first, and Hot Lap has you competing for the best single lap time. After completing events and cups you earn credits which can be used to buy new cars or upgrades for owned cars.

There are a total of 18 cars all ranging in price from $6000 to $93,000. Each car can receive the same upgrades, but certain cars are tailored to certain terrains. There are dirt cars, street cars, and hybrids for both dirt and street. And in Reckless Racing 2 the type of car actually plays a big factor. It’s very difficult to win dirt races with a street car and vice versa.
