Dungeon Defenders: Co-op FTW!

Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave, Trendy Entertainment’s cross platform action, tower defense game, offers a fresh approach to the co-op experience. With its feet firmly planted in both action and strategy, Dungeon Defenders offers a well-rounded experience for the player. It provides a little taste of everything from loads of loot, a great progression system, to an excellent design that encourages cooperative play.

The basic concept of the game is that you and up to three other players try to defend your core(s) from an onslaught of bloodthirsty monsters. Each level is broken down into rounds with each round having two phases; build and defend. During the build phase you must work together to construct a defensive line to stop the horde of baddies that want nothing more then to introduce you to the pointy end of their broadswords. The Defend phase has you demonstrating to the baddies just how sharp your battle-axe really is. Defend for the allotted rounds and you walk out victorious. Allow the enemy to destroy your core and well, you don’ really walk out at all.

Graphically this game is rich in color and style. The levels offer a wide verity of scenery and color each with a unique theme that coincides well with the story. Even when compared to it’s PC counterpart the iOS version still holds it’s own visually. Also there does not seem to be any performance issues despite the quality. Overall I would say that Trendy has really produced a visually stunning offering for the iPad.
